I'm not a skier myself.
I've been a few times; its not too bad if Im on the beginners slope with plenty of soft fluffy snow to fall down into.
But the last time I went was in Scotland where they hadn't had snow all season and the slopes were pure black ice.
Terrifying.
Never again.
Nonetheless there is something beautiful about these stamps.
They recall the early days of ski tourism, with the hint of glamour, danger and exoticism.
The colours are highly evocative and receiving a postcard from Chamonix must have been the height of chic.
