I've recently begun working with Mallalieus, who despite their continental sounding name, are a staunchly British mill based in Oldham since 1863.
They're one of the last vertical manufacturers left, controlling the entire process from fleece to fabric.
Here's a lovely example of what they do best; a beautifully balanced check windowpane over a rich grey marl.
It has a warm smooth handle but with just a hint of woolliness that makes it so British.
Made in Morocco, and featuring our signature seasonal lining design of fish and roses.
