Description

Abruzzo DOP Collecivetta from cantina Pasetti is a good example of the extreme versatility of one of Abruzzo's native grape varieties, Pecorino. This wine is a real 'must' for the company and alone accounts for about one third of its production. The Pecorino grapes used for the production of this wine come from vineyards located in the municipality of Pescosansonesco and in the municipality of Capestrano, both within the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park. This area is characterised by a cool and temperate climate, with fertile soils and good water availability, ideal conditions for growing Pecorino. An indigenous Abruzzi grape variety rediscovered in recent years thanks to the recovery and selection work of a number of wine growers, this grape is distinguished by its ability to give life to fresh and aromatic wines. Brilliant straw yellow in colour, the nose of this wine reveals a bouquet of dried yellow flowers, citrus fruits, dried fruit and bread crust. In the mouth it is fresh and mineral, with a good structure and long persistence. A versatile white, it pairs well with a wide range of dishes, from fish first courses to lasagne in white. Good with fresh cheeses and white meats. If you are looking for a fresh, mineral white wine with a strong character, the Pecorino Abruzzo DOP Collecivetta is a label not to be missed, due to its quality and its connection to the Abruzzo territory.
