Description

Some associate this grape variety with the Sardinian coast. Those, on the other hand, who inevitably associate the word Vermentino with the Ligurian coast (and its cheese focaccia). Those who, finally, when they read Vermentino immediately think of the Tuscan coast, its pine forests that reach all the way to the beach and the warmth of its long Mediterranean summers. These are among the correct interpretations, whose common denominator is undoubtedly its proximity to the sea. Vermentino, here in an interpretation by Conti Guicciardini, Maremma Toscana IGT, is in fact a grape variety typical of the entire Mediterranean area, and in Maremma, as in Liguria and Sardinia, it finds its ideal habitat. The sea breeze that caresses the Mandorlaia vineyards in fact enhances its characteristics. Careful vinification, involving cryomaceration and fermentation at a controlled temperature, contributes to enhancing the rich aromatic heritage of the original grapes. Pale straw yellow in colour with golden highlights, the nose reveals intense and persistent aromas of flowers and wild fruits. On the palate it is characterised by its pleasant, lively and fresh acidity, harmonious flavour and intriguing finish of exotic fruits. Ideal for aperitifs and fish dishes.
