The Duracell Procell Intense 9V 6LR61 battery was developed and sent for testing to BD, the manufacturers of the of the CME T34â„¢ and the BD Bodyguardâ„¢ T Syringe Drivers, together with other batteries from various manufactuers. BD themselves then carried out an indepth observational study of how these batteries performed. Conclusion: The conclusions of the study were that the low impedance of these batteries may indicate a favourable outcome with regard to early alarms and pump shutdown. Higher battery impedance will cause larger voltage dips which are more likely to trigger alarms. Battery brands with a higher impedance are more likely to have early battery alarm events reported than batteries with lower impedance. So the lower the battery impedance the better the performance. Results: It was also found that batteries with a lower impedance had the longest run time of the batteries tested. The Duracell Procell Intense Generation 2 battery had the lowest impedance of all the batteries tested. At just 1.10 to 1.37 ohms during these tests this battery also had the longest run time on average of 86 hours 37 minutes, almost 7 hours longer than it's nearest alternative.
